Apple pie with marzipan

This recipe fulfills our idea of a perfect cake – it does not have too much dough, lets the taste of the fruit stand out wonderfully, and the sweet is just right. Just a joy to bake!

Need:

For p

ie mold with a diameter of 28 cm

Dou

gh: 250g plain flour, 150g butter, 50g sugar, 1 egg

Filling: 3-4 apples, 8 tablespoons apple puree, a pinch of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 100 g of marzipan (you can make it yourself according to our recipe for homemade marzipan), 1 vanilla sugar, almond crisps for sprinkling

Ho

w to do it:

1.
From all the ingredients, we make a dough, wrap it in foil and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Then roll it out and put it in a butter-greased cake mold. Cut the protruding dough with the edge of the mold.

2. Mix 4 tablespoons of apple puree with a pinch of cinnamon and spread it on the dough.

3. Peel the apples, get rid of the kernels and cut them into slices.Mix them with lemon juice, the rest of the apple puree and roughly grated marzipan.Apply the apple mixture evenly to the dough into the cake mould.

4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes, then sprinkle the cake with almond crisps and bake for another 15 minutes.

Our tip: You'd better prepare your own puree from apples at home, it's too sweet to buy.
