When choosing the right piece in food or vegetables, take a good look. Nice shiny and unsathed rhizomes are suitable for betting. Preferably ones that have a yellow hollowed-out beginning of the stvol at the end, or even a small shoot. Like in our picture.

Cut off the shoot piece and allow the wound to dry at room temperature for two days. Then put it in a flower pot, preferably with a substrate for a room flower and include. Be careful with watering, because the root is very prone to rot. Water carefully and prefer not to put water in a bowl under the pot. In a few weeks, the shoots will grow, which will see them in the fall and eventually fall off. In the pot, the rhizome has gained you a lot and you can use the part in the kitchen and re-plant the rest.
