We just love this cake! It can be bought for a few crowns, you do not need any equipment for it, so you can make it without any problems, for example, in the cottage, you have it ready in a moment and most importantly – it is adored by our children. Compared to coloured coated cakes, the unbaked apple variant may look a bit like a grey mouse, but even this cake can be beautifully made. Cover it with tubes or confectionery sponge cakes, do not spare whipped cream and fruit, we tried to decorate it with a picture on edible paper. The recipe is universal, and there are no limits to imagination. So here we go…

1.Cut the peeled apples into months or smaller pieces, put in a saucepan and pour 2.5 dcl of water. Add sugar to taste – and the acidity of apples (we usually give those two full spoons. You can also replace sugar with honey, but add it at the end of cooking). Boil the apples until soft.2. Mix both custard powders in 1.5 dcl of water and pour into apples. Boil for a few minutes and then set aside.
3. And now you can continue in two ways.
1) The simplest and fastest procedure: When you're pressed for time, just stir the sponge cakes into the boiled apples (usually we get about 3/4 bag) and tip the mixture into the cake mould. Smooth the surface and cool.
2) A little more piping: Lay out the bottom of the cake mold with sponge cakes, pour a layer of apple mixture on them, continue on anyway, and finish with the apple layer. If you want to win with the cake, you can at the beginning of the mold around the perimeter with long sponge cakes or tubes, and then just begin to layer. When you take the chilled cake out of shape, feel free to bandage it around with a ribbon – it will decorate and firm it beautifully.4. Put the finished cake in the fridge. It's ideal if you let it cool down overnight. Before serving, take the cake out of the mold and decorate. Serve, for example, with a scoop of sour cream or whipped cream.Our tip: If you like more expressive flavors, you can add to apples, for example, vanilla sugar or extract, a tablespoon of lemon juice, cinnamon or cloves (about 3 pieces).
And since good recipes are never enough, look for other simple cakes not only for children.
