Some people are discouraged from preparing plum povidel by their lengthy cooking. With this recipe, however, you will conjure up a post-for-life supply almost out of work. All you have to do is put it in the oven and wait…

For the povidla you nee
d: 2 kg of plums, 350 g of sugar (it can be up to 500 g, to your taste), 2 tablespoons vinegar, 4 tablespoons rum, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 3 cloves

How to do it:

We bake the sauteed plums, cut them into pieces, put them in a deeper baking tray and drip with vinegar.

2. Put the baking sheet in the oven preheated to 250 °C and leave to bake for about 25 minutes. During that time, we do not pay any attention to plums, we do not mix, nothing…

3. Then sprinkle the plums evenly with half a dose of sugar and bake for another 15 minutes – again without stirring. After a quarter of an hour, add the other half of the sugar and bake for another 15 minutes without stirring.4. We take the plum tray out of the oven, season with cinnamon, crushed cloves and rum, then mix the plums. This will make them ready and we can fill them directly into vaporized glasses. It is a good idea to povidla for sure with rum (so expect a few extra tablespoons of alcohol)

P. S. They're really great, so be sure to make them out of at least two batches. And if you want to avoid a frighteningly burnt baking tray, lay it out carefully with enough moistened baking paper.
