Don't let the boxes get impented! How and what to plant them in autumn

Even the fact that you are slowly but surely moving geraniums to a winter apartment does not mean that the windowsills must remain abandoned. When you choose the right plants, the windows will be beautiful in any weather. And not just windows.

Tender pansies are also suitable in autumn. In the spring, you can exchange them for new ones.

Unfortunately, I do not have window sills in such a state that pots can stand on them. But I'm catching up in the garden, where I've expanded my space for all sorts of pots by naming wooden pallets. Leaning against the wall, they're made for mugs and herbs. I've already planted two autumn boxes, and today I'm going to have another one.

Ornamental kale may not be frost-resistant, but it's been beautiful for a long time. Frost can paint it even more.

Individual will come out cheaper

For autumn planting, it is necessary to choose the plants correctly. Of course, you can buy a ready-made box somewhere. But when you have decent gardening nearby, preferably one where the plants grow themselves, it is better to buy them individually. It's definitely going to come out cheaper. When choosing them, it pays to think ahead, because in the cold months our prepared pot in gray street or garden will be a bright spot of the program. It is up to you if you choose plants that have beautifully colored leaves, berries, or yeartes that can be beautiful even after freezing.

even Krásnohlávek (wire) will not survive the winter, but it looks decorative. He's my clear favorite.

How to do it
1.For autumn planting, the same principles apply as for summer balconies. The box should have drain holes on which you put a piece of shard from a flower pot or pebble. On them belongs a drainage layer in the form of sand, kermezit or gravel. This will ensure that excess water drains and does not rot the roots.

If you plant the wee in acidic soil and water it regularly, it will keep you company for years.

2. In the middle of the chest, put a horticultural substrate and add long-term fertilizer. It is good to plant plants that have similar demands on the soil. For example, put the hot fly, the musats and the musculature in the peat or substrate for rhododendrons and azaleas.

If you don't have a shake on the rock, be sure to use it too. This waste can do anything, and it still looks beautiful.

3. Spread the plants with respect to their height and width. When there will be a flower pot on the window, it is good to put higher back and forward lower, soil covering or overhanging. When planting containers that will be needed on the terrace in the space, put the tallest plants in the middle and around smaller to make the shape even.

The annual asters are also suitable for the autumn box.

4. Since a number of plants that are not frost-resistant are used for autumn planting, you can put them in larger containers even with a flower pot. You can remove them better and replace them with new ones in the spring. Even in winter, the boxes need to be watered well on frost-free days, so that frost-resistant plants do not dry out.
