When you meet a hedgehog, take it!

The hedgehog doesn't carry apples on its barbs, as some people try to convince us, but it's useful. And that's why he needs help in the fall and winter. That is, if he needs it.

On a walk in autumn you can sometimes find a hedgehog cub or a small hedgehog. When are you supposed to take him home or the rescue station? It depends on when you meet him and how much he weighs. In our conditions live two species of hedgehogs, both eastern and western. At first glance, they look almost the same and similar to their lifestyle. They go out mostly at night and sleep in hiding during the day. But they may lose him for a reason.

And what to feed him with? You can already buy special feed for hedgehogs. But he still enjoys cat canned food, granules that bite him well. It can even sponge cakes and fruit. Do not give him insects or earthworms. They've got parasites in them, and you've wormed the hedgehog. But if you want to make it better, buy flour worms.
Life in a box

He needs clean water to drink. Never milk. Never give him milk, but he needs plenty of water. He'll be best in a paper box or crate. You can accommodate him in a cage or a paper box, but if he doesn't sleep, he needs a paddock for the night. Everyone has to be separate, because hedgehog does not have to.
