Do you like natural materials and like to surround yourself with them at home? Beautiful stone mat under hot pots and pans you can make in a moment, the investment is minimal and the result fantastic. It will also look great on the dining table when serving.Wha

t you need: A piece of
old carpet (could use even a thicker filc, but the carpet will create a firmer foundation)
Glue – e.g. high-quality super epoxy (you can glue even ordinary seconds, but it will become more expensive for you, rhinestones stick even with transparent sanitary silicone)

Bag of flat
stones (if you have nowhere to collect them, look for them in hobby markets)

Ho

w to do it
:

1.
Use a feather to cut the shape of your mat from the carpet. Classic ones tend to be round, but it's up to you what you choose. Carve the round mat according to the mould, for example, a wooden kitchen choce or a larger pot. Cut the carpet from the reverse (underside).

2. Get your stones ready. Before you start gluing them, scrub them properly with a brush and leave to dry perfectly. The more dirt you get out of them, the better the glue will stick to them.

3. Apply super-glue to the underside of the rhinecoat – do not save to really well hold in place. Glue the pebble to the center of the pad and gradually proceed towards the edges.

4. When you get to the edge of the carpet, try not to let the last pebble extend a little outwards – it looks better – when the carpet on the edge does not peek out.

5. Give the glue a couple of hours to dry properly, and you can use the pad. When transferring from place to place, handle it carefully so that the stones you are less attached do not loosen.

Our tip: From different colored stones, you can create, for example, floral ornaments on the mat, or fold stones from the darkest in the middle to the lightest on the edge. And don't be afraid to involve larger children in the creation.
