19 unexched tips on how to make your own advent calendar

If you are not one of the fans of chocolate advent calendars from the supermarket, it is time to start thinking about what surprises you will prepare for children this year.

You can be inspired by these 19 tips – you'll find the simple ones that anyone can do in a moment, and the bits you pick a little more time-consuming. In our home for several years, the Advent calendar has been hung on an ornate railing on a staircase. But looking at some of the ideas here, I'm tempted to make a change this year – I'm just not sure if my girls will get away with it :-).

You can fill the Advent calendar at will, but remember that it doesn't have to be just about bonbons and other sweets. Instead, children can find various interesting tasks, Christmas stories, stickers to glue to their Christmas picture, etc. every day.Santa is also amusing, whose hair is added to the countdown days. I'm sure there are plenty of other great ideas, and feel free to share them with us.
