Beginner's guide: How to sew a two-layer wheeled skirt in 20 minutes

Wheeled 10s spin beautifully and the little girls love them! Sew the classic one is not difficult, but according to this instructions, you will sew a square wheeled skirt of original appearance and still save yourself the work.On the skirt, use a soft flowing fabric, choose, for example, knitwear – thanks to him you will not have to worry about cleaning the edges, because they do not rub. Single knit width 150 cm with a nice girly pattern you can buy already about 145 CZK per meter.

The skirt is sewn from two equal squares of fabric and wider rubber. You can calculate the consumption of the substance simply:
1.
First, measure the waist circumference. Then separate it by 3.14 (the number "Pi"). Multiply the result by 1.2 to 1.5 (depending on how much the yunka is to be frilled. Richer mascara = 1.5 ) and you get the diameter of the circle, which you will cut out in the middle of the square of the fabric. Thus, illustrated by about 5-year-old girl: Waist circumference 50 cm / 3.14 = 16 x 1.2, the circle will have a diameter of 19 cm.

2. Then measure how long the skirt you want to have in the shortest place (the tips will be a little longer). Multiply this length by two and add the diameter of the circle you calculated a point higher. Thus: if I want a skirt in the shortest place 25 cm, it will cost me 2x 25 +19 cm = 69, so I need to sew two squares on the side of 69 cm. This will fit into one width of the fabric, so it is enough to buy 70 cm of fabric 150 cm wide. Ufff, and thus ends the more complex part of production 🙂

3.
That being said, we cut two equally sized squares of fabric. In the middle of each of them you need to cut out a round hole – its size depends on the circumference of the waist. Do the calculation according to point 1 and see if you have a pot or bowl of a similar diameter at home that you could draw on the fabric. If you have a circle at hand, it is easier – you can use it to prepare a circle for a paper template (beware, on the circle you measure the radius, that is, only half the result from point 1, in our case 9.5 cm).

4. According to the drawing, now cut out a round hole in the middle of the fabric. You don't have to 30 000 or more times to get the edges on the knit. Put the squares on each other and turn 0 90 degrees so that the corners of the fabric do not overlap.

5. Cut off the rubber about 3 cm shorter than the waist circumference. Sew the ends together. Then use pins to divide the eraser into quarters. Do the same with a circular hole on the fabric. In these places, pin the rubber to the fabric (pin on the pin). Still pin the rubber with the fabric in the middle of each quarter, so that the mascara when sewing will be easier.

6.After this preparation, you will start sewing yourself. You can sew the rubber to the fabric with a straight or zigzag entl stitch . When sewing it, you need to stretch it between the pins so that it is as long as the fabric. It's the only way the mascara will be even.

Well, that's it. If you need a detailed photo course, you can look at a similar skirt on http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2012/09/the-square-circle-skirt-20-ish-minutes-to-make.html

Attention! If you would like to sew a skirt for an adult woman or an older girl, the circumference of the waist and hips will already differ more significantly than that of little girls, and this must be taken into account when cutting. In this case, calculate the size of the cut-out circle and other measures by following the instructions HERE.
