Pasta with sauce is one of the most delicious dishes that children rarely refuse. They literally love tomato sauce, so this simple recipe belongs to the stables. Minced meat directly in the sauce to little girls god knows why it bothers, so instead of the classic Bologna we make this variant with meatballs separately. And be careful, we don't erase them, we bake them.
1/2
ki
lo of minced meat (we like the pork-beef mix the most in a 2:1 ratio, but you can only use pork)1 egg
1/2 onion (little girls don't have to eat it anywhere and in anything, so I leave it out for them)
1 clove garlic
handful of green parsley
older roll + milk for soaking
salt, pepper
For the tomato sauce:
1 smaller onion
1 large carrot
1 stalk of celery
2 full tablespoons good tomato puree (plus tomato puree or can of crushed tomatoes to taste)
1 tablespoon oil
2 dl water or broth for bruising
1. In a milk-soaked sliced roll, mix with minced meat, add an egg, chopped onion and wiped garlic, chopped green parsley, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly. From the mixture we shape the balls – we do not fry them in a pan, but we bake them in the oven at about 200 °C on a baking dish lined with baking paper. They should be ready in 20-25 minutes. In the meantime, we can finish the sauce.
2. For the warmed oil, put the peeled, roughly grated carrots and leave to soften for a few minutes, stirring. Then add the finely sliced onion and celery, lightly salt and roast for a few more minutes under supervision. It must not turn brown!
3. Finally, add the tomato puree, fry and pour a little water or broth. We can also add crushed tomatoes or puree. Season and cook until the sauce thickens slightly. Finally, we can add baked balls to it and let them cook together for 10-15 minutes (not necessary).
I'm going to mix the ready-made sauce for the kids.
Our tip: The daughters liked serving a la birds in a spaghetti nest. Roll the cooked spaghetti into the nest, for a perfect effect under them, stretch a spria of parsley or a thin celery chop like a branch. Fill the nest with sauce and sit the birds from the meat balls on top – cut out the beaks from the orange pepper or carrot, the eyes are from a piece of edam and olives (you can cut out with a straw).
