DIY: Opening advent calendar from manuals + VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS

From kitchen towels or toilet paper, you can create an Advent calendar in many ways. We wanted it to be not only stylish and handsome, but also practical. Thanks to a small feature, individual windows can be opened (and closed again). Children have convenient access to goodies and you can use the calendar next year. We have also prepared a quick video tutorial for you.

What we need

24 rolls of toilet paper (or 12 rolls of tea towels) on the tree itself
5-6 roll with a smaller diameter on the eyelids
piece
of cardboard – we recycled the pizza box
8 sheets of green pap
er
other colored papers on th
e eyelids
string or wool on
the handles
scissors, pen, paper glue, hot melt
gun
ordinary pencil, marker, wheel template (e.g. cut-out)

How

to do it

DSC_9642-OK1 First of all, make sure that the smaller handles can be easily reased into the larger ones. Leave the toilet paper handles as they are, divide the tea towel handle into 2 or 3 parts.Cover all the handles with green paper. One sheet is enough for exactly four toilets. of the handle.

2Whirt the rounded handles with the help of a melting gun according to the attached scheme into the shape of a tree. It is ideal to glue one floor at a time and then glue it as a whole to the lower row.

DSC_9654-OK113 Now throw yourself on the eyelids. Divide the narrower green handles into 4-5 parts with a pencil and cut them open with a pen. On the cardboard, draw 24 wheels with a diameter of used wider handles (it is usually 4.5 cm, but you better measure them) and cut them out. Cut out the same sized wheels from the colored papers.

DSC_9659-OK224You can leave a few wheels 'natural', glue the wheels from colored papers to the rest. In the middle of the wheel, make a small hole with scissors and pass through here a piece of string, which at both ends secure with an anti-unholy knot.

5 Glue the prepared cap with glue or a melt gun to the cut narrow handles, the coloured surface upwards. Let the string look freely.

6This is how the cap will work – you put it in wider handles, the shoving string serves as a 'handle' for comfortable take-out. We glue the back of the handles firmly with green wheels

Our tip: If you haven't collected enough rupees, never mind. You can also cut over toilet paper handles to turn one into two calendar windows. Just be sure that it will be less deep and can only fit candies, choco money or small figurines. You can also attach an eyelet to a shallower tree and hang it on the wall.
