Do you want to magniate the garden through the path in the lawn? Chipped stone is not a cheap thing, concrete tiles from hobby markets do not do much good. Make your own tread stones and decorate them according to your imagination with an original mosaic.

Need:

Plas

tic sink or other suitable form, remnants of mosaic tiles or a mix of stones, finished concrete mixture (about 100 CZK for 30 kg package), tongs for mosaic treatment, backpaper or adhesive film (on average the bottom of the mold), or PVA glue for attaching mosaics and a piece of mesh or bent wire for reinforcement

How

to do it

Mosaic-Stepping-Stones1. Cut out the base under the mosaic from the paper or foil according to the bottom of the mold. Sketch an approximate sketch of the planned mosaic (spiral or other shapes) on it, no matter what you hold on to.

2. On paper, then glue the pieces of mosaic (or rhinestones, if you are rooting for the natural appearance) with PVA glue, so that they do not move later, they will stick to the adhesive foil themselves. Attention – put the mosaic face down, that is, towards the paper.

3. Transfer the finished mosaic to the sink or other mold. If you have a form with a low edge, you can form a mosaic right in it. According to the instructions, mix the concrete mixture with water and immediately pour it into the mosaic mold. Make the layer thick enough (4 cm or more) so that the finished tile does not break when you step on it. Before that, you can wipe the edges of the mold properly with oil, so that later the concrete is easier to loosen.

4. Flatten the surface of the concrete and let the tiles dry for about 2 days – beware, in the shade, never in the sun! Then remove the tile from the mold. Remove the paper or foil and clean the mosaic of any residues and glue.

5. For a better result, put the tile in a plastic bag and leave it to dry slowly for about a week. Then just enjoy your creation.

Our tip: If you want to make sure that the pedal really lasts, pour only half the mixture into the mold first. Then put a piece of mesh on the surface as an armature for strengthening and pour it with the other half of the concrete.
