Is there an old unsightly wooden chair in your corner, shed or attic? The kind of ordinary one that's basically worthless, but you're still sorry to fire her? That's just her moment. With our inspiration, you can conjure up a design piece from it.
Before you start a work of art, it's a good idea to repeat a few principles of good workflow. So that you do not happen to be with a brush piplat with details and the finished work will begin to peel within six months.
First of all, you need to thoroughly clean the entire chair from dirt, grease and dust. Then get rid of the old paint with sandpaper. Someone might recommend lye, which is less laborious. But with older wood, there's a risk that it might sproach you after applying it, because the paint actually held it together.
Since the chairs have been lying around for a long time, there are definitely knocks and other damage on them. You can fix them by whether it's bare wood or paint. For wood, use a wood edite, which is available in several colours. It is easy to work with a moistened finger. But if you put it on the paint, you're trying in vain. It will not hold and the surface will never be smooth. Paint such a place with a primer, and then flatten with a paint trowel. In both procedures, allow the repaired area to dry and re-skate gently again.
For the overall undercoat of the chair you will need a round brush and roller. Paint the edges and corners with a brush. Be careful that the layer is not too thick. On the backrest and seat take a paint roller. The professional trick to achieve the perfect result is simple. Rub the surface in the stripes, and then again in the stripes, but perpendicular to the original. Just cross over, right away, so the paint doesn't get any more cool in the meantime. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions on the selected color, and then skate. After each grinding, do not forget to remove dust with a vacuum cleaner, which would otherwise make you lumps in a new coat of paint.
Now you can start creating color. If you don't believe in it, you can use a template. When the chair is only decorative, you can easily decorate it with a napkin method.
Our tips
*When choosing brushes, follow the kind of paint they are designed for. Others are water-based and others are synthetic. Why? Water-based paints don't have to put up with thinners.
*It's better to paint with a brush if you guide it freely from your wrist and occasionally rotate it around its wass.
* Each coating should be allowed to dry as recommended by the manufacturer. Even if it seems dry, you can damage it with further work. Then we have no choice but to grind everything and start from scratch.
*Remember that water-based paints are great because they don't smell, but when they dry, you won't do anything about them. You clean the synthetic with thinner, but not the water-suthing one.
*Never mix acrylic and synthetic paints. Do not use them on any piece of furniture, as they would not hold on to each other well.
*Even the most fantastic shade of color is easily mixed in color centers, where they have a variety of stencils to choose from.
