There's nothing like falling asleep in bed with a nice companion. Back home, a cushion in the shape of a rat is called a gamekeeper, and everyone has it, regardless of age. I recently made another one, this time a sheep. Maybe you'll like a simple cut and try it too.
The right gamekeeper should be pleasant to the touch. To keep it nice, it's good to wash it regularly, which is why I make it as a pillowcase. It's easier to maintain. When you decide to sew one of these, adjust the size of the coating and body parts according to how much pillow filler you buy.
You need – fabric residues, vatelin residues, pillow filler, scissors, thread, needle, sewing machine, zipper or snaps
How to do it?
1. First, decide how big the pillow will be. It depends on your filler. I bought from 49 CZK in Jysk. According to him, we cut 2 equally large parts of the pillow. Then, according to the template, cut out your head, 8x legs, 2xocas and 4x ears in the appropriate size.
2. From the reverse side, sew 4 legs, 2 ears and a tail to each other. Put the parts of the head face down, insert the ears, and also sew. Turn all the stitched pieces to the cheek and fill with vatelín.
3. Pin or attach the finished head, legs and back to one part of the pillow and attach the other part. Then you can sew a zipper to the bottom of the pillow. Another option is to leave both ends hemmed and sew the studs. Sew all over the perimeter.
4. Turn the pillowcase to the cheek side and sew the eyelet. Finally, insert the filler.
Our tip – I didn't leave the sheep's head all black, but I added a little white hoodie to make it look a bit like our favorite shaun sheep. It is made simply, just add a piece of white fabric to the front and back of the head.
